I guess I posted about my tree anxiety because I was hoping somebody would talk me into staying with the real thing. I don't have many rituals in my life that I stick with, but those I do are hard to let go. Today we went to the lot, and I screamed "slow down" the whole way home as our tree blew in the wind on top of our car.
That's right. We got a real tree.
We did it for Mindy.

HURRAY!!!
We got ours this weekend, too. Smells like Christmas around here!
My husband knocked me off my plastic-plant-high-horse this weekend as we shopped at Garden Ridge. I gave my environmental rant all the way through the fake Christmas tree section and then browsed through the fake palm trees. As I told my husband we should consider getting one for the patio because I couldn't kill it, he gave me a look that said it all.
So, you can completely disregard all past and future environmental rants. I am a big fat hypocrite!
HA! You crumbled. Good for you!
now that im a northeasterner, i HAVE to get a real tree or i would be such a poser. there is just nothing like them. we went to the lot saturday. chris and willow cut it down. then we went home and made hot cocoa and it started snowing. it was all very norman rockwell. i freakin love how much more fun the holidays became once we had our girls. its just as exciting now as it was when i was five.
